Nota Bene I probably have more female friends than male friends striving for holiness, so this is not a dig on women. Indeed, we priests are usually harder on men than women, so this is going to be an "equalizer" blog post. The fact is that anybody (man or woman) who tempts another (man or woman) through immodesty becomes "the Tempter" to the other. However, due to the fact that more women in the Western Hemisphere dress gravely immodest than men and due to the fact men are more visually wired in their concupiscence than women, the following will refer primarily to female modesty. "Though modesty is mandated for [...]
Every Catholic—lay and cleric—would spend months talking about nothing except how to end the pornography problem among Catholics and worldwide. The mortal sin of pornography would be avoided as vigilantly as plague-stricken hospitals, especially if access to priests were limited. Bishops would shut down the indiscriminate approach to Holy Communion until every man was porn-free and every woman was birth-control free. Every diocese would [...]
In our traditional Latin calendar, this is also called Dominica in Albis or "White-Sunday." It is also called "Low Sunday." My podcasts are back after some technical difficulties (which I honestly believe were preternatural, as there was no natural explanation why the last recordings did not work.) Really, a better title of this article is "Why to stop confessing pornography badly." Or: “Why confession without amendment will still lead to the loss of your soul.” People do not realize the danger in confessing pornography without a firm resolution of amendment to totally change their life. That is the purpose of this blog post. Going to confession within a week (before or after) of Divine Mercy Sunday totally relieves the soul of not only the eternal effects of sin (hell) but also the temporal effects of sin (purgatory.) Jesus said to St. Faustina, "The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness [...]
