It’s not ‘reverse racism.’ It’s just racism.
If it didn’t take the Holy Name of Jesus in vain, I would say that Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino would be one of my top ten favorite movies. The main character, Walt Kowalski is played by Eastwood in that 2008 flick (see picture above.) Walt is a grumpy old white man disgusted by the shallowness and selfishness of his children and grandchildren. Meanwhile, he has good friends of many different races to whom he shows affection by endless racial slurs against them. They happily return the favor with insults to him. Real men often show affection by ripping on each other.
Spoiler alert: Walt then befriends his neighbors, a Hmong family in the ghetto of Detroit. Walt (who would appear to be “a racist” if you only judged him on his vocabulary) ends up giving his life for the Hmong family at the end. Yes, that filthy-mouthed white man truly ends up dying for his new Asian friends by the end of the movie. This is not an accident. I believe Eastwood wanted to show woke Hollywood how most of America views race. And who the real hypocrites are.
Let me write a little bit about my experiences on race in the United States. I have been to all fifty states, but I have lived in Colorado, Massachusetts, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida. As far as the North, I often find there is a tense or artificial peace when it comes to race relations. Northern whites often are self-righteous or self-conscious about race, perhaps dropping the occasional humble-brag about having a black friend.
But in the South, you don’t see such virtue signaling. At least, not as much. While it is true that the South often holds to that old phrase “Birds of a feather flock together,” the South is also where you’re much more likely to find a dying rich white man leave his entire estate to a poor black man or black woman who worked for him over an entire lifetime.
All in all, I believe race relations in the South feel much more natural than they do in the North. People are used to the gifts and foibles of the other races. When you’re constantly around people of other races, people can relax about stereotypes. Why? Because there’s actually a truth to racial stereotypes… and that’s okay! (I often tease my Hispanic friends, black friends and Asian friends about their race precisely because I do not see them as delicate trophies.)
Jesus even teases the Syrophoenician woman in Mark 7, insisting she comes from a race of “dogs” because of her nationality. Confirm this interpretation using any ancient Biblical commentary on this chapter if you don’t believe me as to Our Lord’s motivation for using that word canibus in the Vulgate, literally the root word of our English canine.
But back to the United States: Even in the North and the West of the United States, I keep finding that the liberals’ accusation that “the United States is based on racism” is not only not true, but that most red-blooded Americans really don’t give a crap what the color of your skin is.
For example, I recently stopped at an extremely rural gas station in the middle of Wyoming. I was surprised to see a black woman working behind the counter. (I was surprised only because I was in white Wyoming.) Behind the counter was an old white man with a white beard and a pot-belly. The two of them were talking up a storm like they were best friends. It was yet another reminder to me that if a white man and a black woman can be great friends in a highly conservative state like Wyoming, we really need to get past all these leftists yelling that we still live in a racist country. Except for leftists killing unborn brown babies, you will find few racists left in this country.
Now let’s talk a bit about the difference between Catholics and Protestants when it comes to race. Historically, Catholics have been more open to interracial marriage than Protestants. Notice here I am not talking about Catholics marrying non-Catholic Christians (mixed-marriage) or Catholics marrying unbaptized people (disparity of cult.) I am talking about white Catholics marrying black Catholics.
For example, contrast North America with South America. The United States as a Protestant nation seems to have approached interracial marriage either with suspicion (most of American history) or virtue-signaling (more recently.) But I have been on mission to Brazil three or four times and I am always surprised how it is a huge hodgepodge of mixed races, often all blended together in one single family. And nobody cares or talks about it. This is a small piece of evidence that real Catholics over 2,000 years were never aiming for virtue signaling if they supported interracial marriage. It was just normal for most of world history, at least for travelers.
Or, consider Mexico. Besides all the miracles associated with Our Lady of Guadalupe, she also appeared as a reflection of the future race that would spring up in the land of the conquered Aztecs: A mix of Spanish blood and indigenous blood. This is the real account of the tilma that you can easily find in any cursory search of the history of Catholicism in Mexico.
In the 16th century, St. Francis Xavier met a Portuguese sailor in the Far East on a distant island. The sailor was living with an Indonesian woman who was open to the Catholic faith. St. Francis Xavier baptized her, but not before he convinced the sailor to marry her and raise a family with her since they were already living together. This small story shows that most Catholics for most of history never really cared too much about race.
Of course, some traditionalists would say we never had a problem with racism in this country. I disagree with this. One example is the fact that Justice Clarence Thomas left seminary in the South in the 1960s because of horrible things that whites said about blacks in his seminary. (We’re talking hateful phrases, not teasing phrases.) So, there was some history of racism in this country, even up until the 20th century. You can see this in the excellent documentary called Created Equal about the life of Justice Clarence Thomas.
But for the most part, I believe race relations were doing very well over the last 50 years until Obama started inventing problems to divide and conquer the country. Since then, we have been living under what I call “dialectical racism.” Where Karl Marx’ original incendiary dividing line was the thesis and antithesis based on economics, this wouldn’t work in the United States, due to our social mobility.
Thus, the enemies of human nature had to find something else. The dividing line in the United States had to become race. Whereas dialectical materialism took down Russia, dialectical racism is what threatens to take down the United States. And by “dialectical racism” I mean “fabricated racism.” And that trick is quite new on the front of Western civilization.
Actually, Obama played only one role in this. As I researched for this article, I found that race relations in the Western Hemisphere are much worse than I thought while writing the first half of this article. But the racism is not from whites. It’s against whites.
Earlier this summer of 2026, an independent reporter released the Rape Gang Inquiry Report, showing that 250,000 girls and women in the UK had been raped by Muslims in that country. My good friend Liz Yore has a brilliant but harrowing summary of it on her Substack here.
Now, before reading it, I already knew that Mohammed’s Quran encouraged Muslims to rape and kidnap Christian children (See Quran 23:6 and 70:30.) But a cursory AI search estimates that less than half of Englishmen today are baptized (and less than 10% of children are baptized. This is the case because fewer and fewer English Protestants believe in infant baptism. What this means is that Muslims are raping these white girls not because they are Christian… but because they are white.
Mrs. Yore’s report linked above reads: “The Report found that 95% of abusers were Pakistani Muslims. Grooming was perpetrated on vulnerable poor white girls, some who were in state care, via drugs, alcohol, blackmail, and racial/religious abuse.” The report continues: “After a few months the girls would then be collected from school gates, care homes, and streets in taxis. They were taken to houses, flats, restaurants, and hotels where they were raped repeatedly by groups of men, tortured, filmed for blackmail, and told they were ‘white trash’ or ‘kuffar’ who merited punishment.” (emphasis mine.)
The Muslims admit as much. One of the white girls violated in England said this about the attitude found in her Middle-Eastern rapists: “They have no compassion for the young girls that are out on the streets and they see us as slags, as white trash. ‘English pig dogs’ came up a lot. Muslims don’t like pigs and they don’t like dogs. So they hate dogs, they hate pigs, and they’d put women on the same level as that.”
Thus, it’s not an exaggeration to state that Europe is now full of Muslims executing an extreme level of hatred and racism against whites. That’s not “reverse racism” It’s just plain racism.
Although the United States is not quite as bad as the UK yet, the brainwashing done by the Academy upon poor African Americans using Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is rapidly turning urban areas against whites for no good reason.
How could it be “white supremacy” to recognize that the only group of people in this country where it is not only permitted but even encouraged to discriminate against is whites? Indeed, even whites in most of our own American cities live with a certain level of self-hatred and shame for being white. This is certainly the rotten fruit of a successful brainwashing plot to turn Western culture against whites, specifically white men.
Matt Walsh has been making phenomenal documentaries (citing a tremendous amount of old, primary sources) to tell the real story about the Slave Trad, Civil War, Native Americans and race relations in the United States. Even I realized I had believed many myths as I watch his myth-busting series about race, slavery and war. Walsh demonstrates that slavery has been a part of world history on every continent from start to finish. In fact, the only people in world history who eradicated slavery in any single country (US and Britain, specifically) were ironically white men. This only happened over the last 200 years.
Perhaps the only systematic racism that still exists against blacks in the United States is how leftists still target the extinction of minorities by building enormous abortion centers in low-income neighborhoods. For example, I pray a couple times a month at the Planned Parenthood in Denver. It’s built in a black neighborhood (like most abortion mills) and there they kill 10,000 babies a year. It’s the third largest Planned Parenthood in the world.
In fact, that pre-born killing center used to be colloquially labeled “Planned Parenthood of Stapleton.” Apparently the baby killers now try to avoid that name since Ben Stapleton was a famous Denverite of the 1930s who was both the Democratic Colorado State Auditor and a member of the Ku Klux Klan! Stapleton is further proof that the Democrats have always been the racist party. But I personally think it is fitting that the third largest Planned Parenthood in the world (just fifteen minutes from me in a black neighborhood) is found next to the rich, white Stapleton neighborhood named after a Klan member from 100 years ago.
So, yes, I keep finding the only people in this country who are racist are the leftists, including those who promote abortion (and to a lesser extent—CRT and DEI.) Very very little racism today comes from the allegedly-grumpy conservatives in the United States and Europe. That is why I started this article with some writing about the movie called Gran Torino. I think Clint Eastwood saw the same thing happening in this country when it comes to race. The left is still full of total hypocrisy.
My next article will tackle race relations in the Church. We will see how leftist clergy over the last century have cloaked their heresy of religious indifferentism (the error that all religions lead to heaven) inside a fake missionary spirit so as to remain immune from criticism from the right.
