Recently, I wrote an article called Doctrinal Pitfalls to Each Traditional Group.  The first line explains the basics: “Today we consider intellectual pitfalls to the SSPX, FSSP and sedevacantists, specifically on the topics of the papacy and Vatican II to show no one has the ‘Rosetta Stone’ to the Church crisis.”

I then go on to disprove every trad-stance towards the papacy, including my own.

In other words, I finally came to the realization that in this “eclipse of the Church” there will be no perfect answer until God Himself reveals it.  That is why we must do what St. Vincent Lerins proposes, namely, to “cling to antiquity.”

In some sense, this is everything I have been doing on this site for ten years.  But let me explain this in terms of my old and new conversions, using the slightly-overused pill-analogy from the Matrix:

  • Blue-Pill:  I was raised being fully obedient to “the System…” That is, growing up, I never even questioned the State or the Novus Ordo “Catholic” system or the medical system of constant vaccines, the public school system (bled into each Catholic school I attended) teaching evolution and blind-obedience to numerous lies.  Growing up, I drank all the Kool-Aid of poison that was fed to me.
  • Red-Pill:  Getting “Red-Pilled” is really nothing more radical than doing your own research.  When I researched vaccines, I realized they caused autism.  When I researched evolution, I found it had no basis in reality (the Bible or the natural sciences.)  When I researched “Eucharistic Prayer II” I found out it was invented in the 1960s, not the early Church.  I found out the TLM has Apostolic roots (even if it was in Greek before it was in Latin.)  I found out most of what I had been taught all the way from Catholic grade school as a 6 year old all the way through seminary was a lie.  And coming to the truth of Red-Pill-ism is not gnosticism made for elite-mystics.  It’s simply having the courage to access all public information (on issues of Church and State) available to anyone with the internet.
  • Black-Pill:  (This and the next one are not in the movie the Matrix.) Notice above I said I discovered most of what I had been taught was a lie.  When you get Black-Pilled, you believe nearly everything you were taught was a lie.  But getting Black-Pilled also may be a trick of Satan, at times, because the truth-seeker is again in danger of being defined by the lie more than the truth.  For example, if you think DNA is not a double-helix of genetic information just because scientists who normally believe in evolution promote that teaching, well, you may come to be such a doomer that you no longer even trust your own senses.
  • White-Pill:  This is when you bring hope to others, even when you could keep exposing “the system.”

For example, I look at someone like my friend, Mel Gibson. Many people think he is Black-Pilled. On some things, he is. For example, on Joe Rogan last year, he said he doesn’t believe in evolution and proved why it’s bogus. But on other issues, it was obvious he was holding-back. Gibson could have exposed many more issues than even Rogan’s listeners would have cared to know.

Today, Mel doesn’t spend much time on all Black Pills he could feed us—the lies he exposed on the system decades before the rest of us knew.  Rather, he is working on bringing the hope of the Resurrection to millions of people in his new movie.  (He has told me lots about it, but I will not share as I promised him confidentiality.)

In any case, this is the White Pill:  Bringing hope when you could name the darkness as a Black-Pill doomer.  And the reason I mentioned my article above on Doctrinal Pitfalls to Each Traditional Group is because I finally came to a dead-end on understanding why God has allowed these things to happen in the Catholic Church (or rather, against the Catholic Church from what only appears to be an attack from within.)  That dead-end was actually killing my hope.

Or rather, the dead-end was a fork in the road:  I could either enter an eternal depression (and by “eternal” I am not exaggerating, as despair leads to hell) at the state of the Church –or– I could bring hope to you, my readers and listeners.  And that is why, towards the end of the article linked above, I explain that 4th century St. Vincent of Lerins had very humble and simple advice in a Church crisis:  Cling to Christ and cling to antiquity.

That is why, going forward, I am going to start teaching the faith more than calling out the heretic.  At least, my videos and podcasts are going to be much more positive, even if I occasionally expose the darkness (Eph 5:11) here in my writings.

It has been quite a journey going from “liberal Catholic” who drank all the Kool-Aid as a kid (Blue-Pill) to admitting I was always destined by God to be “Red-Pilled” as He planted in me from the day of my conception a hunger for the truth more than popularity or comfort.  But going from Red-Pill to Black-Pill almost brought me to the edge of despair.  So, I back away from it, not because the Black-Pillers are wrong about everything, but because I now see I have limited time on earth to bring hope to a dark world.

Hence, the White Pill.  Pray that I can hold to this resolution.
