Above from left to right:  Will Goodman, myself (Fr. David Nix), Fr. Fidelis Moscinski in Washington DC several years ago after a trial for Red Rose Rescue.  In Red Rose Rescue, we do peaceful counseling inside abortion centers with the insistence we cannot leave until every unborn child is safe from the instruments of the abortionist.  This usually ends up resulting in our arrest.

Friend #1:

Fr. Fidelis and Will Goodman have spent a lot more time in prison than I have.  Fr. Fidelis is out of prison after nearly a year behind bars.  Will Good man is still in prison.  Yesterday (23 Nov 24) I spoke on the phone for about an hour to Fr. Fidelis.  Most of this conversation was in regards to getting Will Goodman a second trip to the hospital for a neuro-trauma consult and further observation after accidental but serious head trauma that Will sustained in a Connecticut prison.  We have evidence he did not receive adequate medical treatment following this injury.  Although Fr. Fidelis and I believe we have the right people on the job, here is part of the account given us by LifeSite News on him:

Will Goodman, currently an inmate at Federal Correction Institution Danbury in Connecticut, suffered severe injuries on Sunday, November 15, after falling in his sleep from an upper bunk and landing headfirst on the floor underneath… Goodman was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. Although he was vomiting blood and doctors discovered that he had skull fractures, he was sent back to the prison that night. There he suffered from severe dizziness and nausea, sleepiness without being able to sleep, and pain to his head, face, shoulders, lower back, with bruises and swelling. His nose bled for two days.

You will see below in several paragraphs how you can pray for Mr. Will Goodman.

Friend #2:

Above is myself with a new friend named Joseph, a persecuted Catholic from Pakistan.  This picture was taken at a recent traditional Catholic conference in Rio De Janeiro with about 1000 people in attendance hosted by Centro Dom Bosco where we were all speakers.

Joseph (the Pakistani Catholic man in the above picture) and his wife work full time for persecuted Christians in the Middle East and Far East.  I exclude her first name and their last name due to their work in countries where it is very dangerous to work as Christians.  Joseph’s own sister named Shagufta was kidnapped and held by Muslims for years.

Currently, Joseph is working on the release of another Pakistani Christian woman who was arrested on “blasphemy laws” against Mohammed.  Although she has four children, she has been in prison and is slated to be hung until death.  Her name is also Shagufta (which is actually a very uncommon name in Pakistan, according to Joseph.) Although I can’t consider either Shagufta to be my “friend,” Joseph knows the family of the Shagufta who is currently in prison, so I am considering them all friends by association in this work for persecuted Christians.

Even Vatican News covered the plight of Shagufta Kiran:  Shagufta Kiran, a 40-year-old Pakistani Christian woman, has been found guilty of blasphemy and sentenced to death under Article 295-C of Pakistan’s Penal Code, which punishes offences against the Prophet Muhammad.

Upon learning of Shagufta, I went to Congressman Higgins, aka “Captain Clay” for help.  I knew he would listen to me because five years ago Congressman Higgins let me come to the House of Representatives with a Yazidi woman from Detroit to discuss ISIS’ slavery of her people.   Higgins, a former street-cop in Lafayette and deployed Marine was brought to tears as he heard the Middle-Eastern woman recount the horrors of modern-day oppression.

At our request for help, Captain Clay wrote a Letter to President Biden last week for the release of Mrs. Kirin of Pakistan so she could go home to her husband and four children:

It is astonishing that it is 2024 and I have one friend and one acquaintance (by association) in prison for being Christians.  In fact, I know other pro-lifers who are in prison besides Will Goodman.  God is crowning his elect with glory with their time in prison, and perhaps martyrdom, but I still believe I am called to do what I can to release them.

Here is what you can do, too: The feast day of St. Francis Xavier (patron saint of India and Pakistan) is in nine days (2 Dec) from production of this article (25 Nov 24.)  If you would like to help Will and Shagufta, please, please pray the following Novena for God’s will to be done in both of their lives:

Novena of St. Francis Xavier beginning 25 Nov:

The Miraculous Novena of Grace
To be prayed: March 4 -March 12 or November 25-December 3

HISTORY: The Novena of Grace, which begins March 4th and ends on the 12th, the day of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier, owes its origin to the Saint himself. At Naples, in December, 1633, Father Marcello Mastrilli, S.J. was at the point of death. The Saint appeared to him and, bidding him renew a vow he had made to labor in Japan, said:

PROMISE: “All those who implore my help daily for nine consecutive days, from the 4th to the 12th of March included, and worthily receive the Sacraments of Penance and the Holy Eucharist on one of the nine days, will experience my protection and may hope with entire assurance to obtain from God any grace they ask for the good of their souls and the glory of God.”

The Father arose, instantly cured. So well has the Saint kept this promise that this devotion in his honor became universally known as the Novena of Grace. Its efficacy is not restricted to the dates mentioned. It may be made very appropriately from November 25 -December 3, the Feast of St. Francis Xavier. Though any prayers can be said in honor of the Saint, the foregoing are generally recommended.

PRAYER TO ST. FRANCIS XAVIER
Attributed to Father Marcello Mastrilli, S.J. (17th century)

O SAINT Francis Xavier, well beloved and full of charity, in union with thee, I reverently adore the Majesty of God; and since I rejoice with exceeding joy in the singular gifts of grace bestowed upon thee during thy life, and thy gifts of glory after death, I give Him hearty thanks therefore; I beseech thee with all my heart’s devotion to be pleased to obtain for me, by thy effectual intercession, above all things, the grace of a holy life and a happy death. Moreover, I beg of thee to obtain for me . . . (the release from prison of Will and Shagufta). But if what I ask of thee so earnestly doth not tend to the glory of God and the greater good of my soul, do thou, I pray, obtain for me what is more profitable to both these ends. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

If, for any reason, the above prayer cannot be said, it will suffice to say five times Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.—–S. C. Ind., March 23, 1904.

HYMNUS AMORIS—S. FRANCISCI XAVERII
O Deus, ego amo Te!
Nec amo Te, ut salves me,
aut quia non amántes Te,
ætérno punis igne:
Tu, Tu, mi Jesu, totum me
ampléxus es in Cruce.
Tulísti clavos, lánceam
multámque ignomíniam,
innúmeros dolóres,
sudóres et angóres
ac mortem: et hæc propter me
ac pro me peccatóre!
Cur ígitur non amem Te,
o Jesu amantíssime?
Non ut in cælo salves me,
aut ne ætérno damnes me,
nec præmii ullíus spe;
sed sicut Tu amásti me,
sic amo et amábo Te,
solum quia Rex meus es,
et solum quia Deus es. Amen.
